Brian is a guitar instructor, musician and composer from Massapequa, New York. At a young age, Brian took an early interest in music. When he was just a toddler, he was playing melodies by ear on his toy piano. Once in elementary school, he took an early interest in the drums and played in the school band which instilled upon him various rhythmic ideas. After listening to rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, Brian then became intrigued by the guitar. He started playing at the age of 10 and fell in love with it, constantly playing for hours on end and getting lost in the harmonic possibilities of the instrument. In high school, he began playing in bands which further developed his guitar skills and experience working with other musicians. After multiple lessons and years of studying on his own, Brian yearned to learn more and attended Five Towns College. There he honed his music skills studying music theory, piano and singing as well. He also found a n.ew interest in audio recording and excelled in the field. He graduated from Five Towns College in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Commercial Music and Audio Recording Technology.
During and after college, Brian played guitar and sang in many successful original and cover bands playing many popular venues in New York. He also played drums, bass and piano with several bands. With the knowledge he gained in college, Brian spent many years recording bands and eventually began composing and producing music for television and commercials on networks such as CBS, NBC, ABC, MTV, Bravo and Showtime. Some shows include the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Real Housewives series, Say Yes to the Dress, MTV Cribs, Behind the Music and sporting events such as NFL football games and the NCAA Basketball tournaments. He is constantly tackling new projects and new styles of music in the television and the commercial world.
Brian has also been teaching private lessons for over a decade. With over 50 students a week, he has become one of the busiest guitar instructors in New York giving him the experience to effectively pass his knowledge on to others. His passionate and creative approach to educating students of all ages helps keep them intrigued and enjoying playing music as he has for most of his life. Using traditional instruction, as well as keeping up with current popular music, gives his students the perfect balance of technique and excitement to keep them playing for years to come.
